One of Katie's favorite things to do is create art that can be enjoyed by all in public places. Some murals pictured in this portfolio are old works that are no longer on view. Others list the location to view her work.
Forest Park Garden Mural
Katie was hired by the PTO at Forest Park Elementary to paint a mini mural in the community garden to honor the outgoing PTO president. The mural is colorful and fun and represents things grown or found in the garden throughout the year. Location: 1600 North Tyler Street, Little Rock, AR.
Mountain Mural
This mural was a particularly special one for Katie as it was painted for her grandson, Kash Hunter Lee Wilson.
Johnny Cash
As part of the larger Kings Live Music Mural Project, Katie painted Arkansas' own Johnny Cash in the men's bathroom at Kings Live Music. Location: 1020 Front Street, Conway, AR. Learn more about the Kings Live Music Murals here. Update: Due to repeated vandalism, this mural had to be painted over and is no longer on view.
Good Golly, Miss Dolly
Painting the queen of country was one of Katie's particular favorite mural projects. Good Golly, Miss Dolly can be seen in ladies bathroom at Kings Live Music in Conway, AR. Location: 1020 Front Street, Conway, AR. Watch a time-lapse of Katie creating this mural here.
Main Street Pocket Park: Eat Local
Katie was selected as one of 10 different Arkansas artists to paint a mini mural in the Main Street Pocket Park illustrating the theme "Eat Local." This project was done in partnership with the Downtown Little Rock Partnership and with generous support from Ben E. Keith Foods. Location: 711 Main Street, Little Rock, AR. Main Street Pocket Park: Arkansas Cookbooks
Round two of the Main Street Pocket Park project was to transform the entrance of the Pocket Park into a massive stack of Arkansas-themed cookbooks. Along with 3 other Pocket Park artists, Katie painted cookbook spines along the side of the parking garage. Katie's section is the lower left quarter of the mural.
Arkansas Circus Arts Children's Studio
After working with Arkansas Circus Arts for year as a performance artist, Katie was honored to be selected as the visual artist to complete the mural in the new studio space for Arkansas Circus Arts. This mural is on view at 9320 White Oak Crossing, North Little Rock, AR.
Freddie Mercury
This mural was the final addition to the Kings Live Music Mural project. Location: 1020 Front Street, Conway, AR. Watch a time lapse of Katie painting this mural here.
Arkansas Arts Center Mural
As part of the closing celebrations for the Arkansas Arts Center, Katie painted a temporary sunshine mural in the Signac Gallery which was transformed into a beach and tiki bar party for the closing celebrations. Read more about the Farewell Party here.
America 13-50 Mural
Katie was hired to paint a monochromatic mural depicting symbols of Americana in the restaurant America 13-50. The restaurant close in 2010 and this mural is no longer on view.
